We would create health hubs for seamless care1.41.25pm GMT Mon 5th Feb 2007 Welsh Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Jenny Randerson, AM for Cardiff Central, said: "The people of Wales have long understood that we are more effective when we work together, than when we stand alone. I want to apply that principle to health care. "I want to create 'health hubs', as they do in modern health services in other countries. These expanded Primary Care Centres, will bring together a whole range of services which affect the health of patients. Such services would include pharmacies, physiotherapists and other therapies, housing and social services, Citizen's Advice Bureaux and so on. This will help people receive health care in their community at a convenient one-stop shop. "Bringing services together is better for patients, but it can also make the health service more efficient, That's why I want to see more co-operation between the scores of bodies responsible for health. We've had enough re-organisation to last a lifetime. What we need now is for the bodies that exist to work together to achieve the best results for patients." Notes/Nodiadau: Welsh Liberal Democrats are picking a different reason to vote for them at the Welsh General Election five times a week from Jan 1. The reasons are drawn from their emerging programme for government. The trend in recent elections have been for the traditional parties to spin their messages as three this, and five that. The Welsh Liberal Democrats have a full programme for government comprising over 100 ideas to make a healthier, wealthier and wiser Wales.
