Cardiff Lib Dem's join Facebook to keep in touch- Goldsworthy and Randerson5.09.53pm GMT Tue 13th Feb 2007 Alison Goldsworthy spokesperson for Cardiff West Lib Dems and Jenny Randerson Lib Dem AM for Cardiff Central have joined the online networking tool Facebook. Facebook is an online phenomena, designed to help spread information through social networks. Alison Goldsworthy said: "For some time now I have been a Facebook member and seen it grow rapidly, with thousands of Cardiff residents now registered. Many of those people are young people who are furthest from the democratic process. As a young candidate I feel passionately about getting as many people involved as possible - and I'm sure Facebook can help us with that." Jenny Randerson AM said "With thousands of young people in the constituency, I want this to be a way that many of them can found out more about me, my politics and the work I do on behalf of the whole constituency." Notes to editors: 1) Alison Goldsworthy was the candidate for the Welsh Liberal Democrats at the last General Election in Cardiff West. She recorded the best result the Liberal Democrats had ever received and forced the victor, Labour's Kevin Brennan, to admit that his party had lost votes to the Lib Dems. The Conservative vote was static and Plaid Cymru came fourth again. 2) At the 2004 local elections, the Liberal Democrats came second in the Cardiff West constituency and doubled the number of Lib Dem Councillors in the seat. 3) You can find out more about Facebook here http://www.facebook.com/about.php 4) Add Alison Goldsworthy as your Facebook friend here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=502419759 Add Jenny Randerson AM as your Facebook friend here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=708400392
