Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil

Cardiff Central AM Jenny Randerson was this morning shown one of the new generation of Welsh Ambulances and met some of the paramedics who will be using them.

Jenny said "It was really pleasing to see how upbeat the paramedics were about the new ambulances and especially pleasing that they will be available by the end of the month.

"The emphasis on new equipment to assist with lifting patients will have a big impact on staff sickness leave which will in turn improve overall performance. Also, satellite navigation systems will reduce the time taken to reach patients.

"It is just a shame that it has taken an inquiry that Labour thought was not necessary to initiate the necessary changes."
