JENNY REQUESTS MEETING TO DISCUSS UNIVERSITY REDUNDANCIES

3.07.20pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 14th Jun 2007

Jenny Randerson, Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Cardiff Central, has written to Dr David Grant, the Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University, asking for a meeting to discuss the recently announced redundancies at Cardiff University.

Jenny said:

"I am extremely concerned about the redundancies that have been announced at Cardiff University which is, after all, one of the most successful in the UK.

I believe that the proposals to make 22 academic and other staff redundant as both unnecessary and premature and I have also written to the affected Department Heads to find out exactly what research is being discontinued as a result".

Ends.
