Minister's NHS plans must include Cardiff Royal Infirmary, warns Randerson

Jenny Randerson AM called on the Health Minister not to forget about the Cardiff Royal Infirmary in her reconfiguration plans yesterday.
The Welsh Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson said: "The Minister's statement made great play about NHS Trust plans for change in South Wales - but failed to mention the capital.
"Cardiff and the Vale NHS Trust and Local Health Boards haven't even come up with plans that the Minister requested, yet no mention was made at all. The Cardiff Royal Infirmary site has lain virtually unused in the centre of the city for the last ten years.
"If the Minister is serious about changing the way we provide services, shouldn't this be taken into consideration? I would like to see Cardiff Local Health Board and the Trust working closely together to produce plans to better use this important asset - to leave it under-used is a waste of resources, and selling the people of Cardiff short."
