The following comment is from Jenny Randerson AM, Welsh Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson, giving her reaction to the announcement today that A+Es will be given a fifteen minute target to offload patients from ambulances.

Jenny Randerson said:

"I welcome this announcement from the Minister."

"We have long argued that the current target time fails to encourage a speedy transfer of patients to hospitals from ambulances. I hope the new targets will end the days of ambulances queuing outside the doors of Accident and Emergency departments and deal with the knock on effect on the Ambulance Service and delays in response times."
