Randerson and Welsh Lib Dems take Post Office Fight to Gordon Brown's door.12.00.00am GMT Tue 11th Mar 2008
Cardiff Central AM Jenny Randerson today travelled to London to join other Liberal Democrats handing in a petition of 52 000 names against the Labour Government's Post Office Closure Programme. Many Post Offices are being forced to close across Wales with a further ** being announced across mid Wales today. Jenny Randerson said: "I am glad that I got the chance to take thousands of signatures from Cardiff residents, with so many form across the UK to the door of the man responsible for the closures. The Labour party have destroyed our network and our community facilities, by taking away business and demanding a 'modernisation' plan, they are fully responsible for this." "They may have postponed many more closures ahead of the local government elections in May, but I don't think they will fool people that easily. Everyone knows they will start again as soon as the elections are over." "I hope Gordon Brown and his party will listen to the tens of thousands of people who signed the petition and the millions more who oppose the closures." Notes:
